Current Challenges and Future Directions for Project Governance

About this video

Auditor-General reports and other research on failed projects – both in Australia and overseas – frequently point to governance as being a key reason for the failure.

However, we have found that typically, organisations believe they have appropriate structures in place to deal with challenges as they appear but when failed projects are investigated they have found that their belief was misplaced.

Hence, we find a health check on governance (the topic of this video),  can be useful.

In this thirty (30) minute video we look at the current and emerging challenges to effective program and project governance, and discuss possible solutions to allow you to review your own environment.

Follow-up webinars and videos will be based on local projects in a case study format.

These include:

  • Vic Education – The Ultranet Program
  • Queensland Health and its Payroll System
  • The Australian Cargo Service
  • Sydney Water Customer Information Billing System,
  • RMIT Student Administration System.

We use the learnings from these projects to avoid repeating the problem.

If the content of this video has raised questions for you, we are happy to organise a session for a discussion.

Should you have particular projects of interest please let us know. We are always interested to learn, share and discuss how things could be improved.
